“Sorority,” specifically at the University of Mississippi, is not a term that is taken lightly. Those remain confidential to the individual PNM or the chapter and are not shared with us unless deemed appropriate by the PNM or the chapter. More so, we are not able to know why certain membership decisions are made. We plan convocation, work with the chapters to set event times, facilitate selection on Campus Director, plan Bid Day, and more! While we facilitate the logistics of recruitment, its important to know that neither CPH or FSL make any membership decisions on behalf of the potential new member or the chapter. This means that we ensure recruitment events can happen on campus effectively. The College Panhellenic Council and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life facilitate the logistics of recruitment. What role does CPH/FSL play in recruitment? So, we encourage you to put forth your best effort for each chapter throughout the week to have an incredible recruitment experience and to find the chapter that feels like home to you! Each of our eleven chapters has great things to offer to help you develop and excel as a student leader on campus. In addition, we have award winning chapters! Therefore, we encourage you to keep an open mind throughout the entire recruitment process. Currently, we have some of the largest sorority chapters in the country. Rather, each chapter will have its own quota established by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Notice of 2023 Variable Quota Implementation: Due to the extraordinary growth of interest in our system, this year all sororities will not have the same quota.
